Pushed some changes to the master branch the other day. Loads of quality of life improvements made it in this update. For example, you will now see your unpublished objects in the Member list views and in Tag list views. I also added some scripts for Lookaway CMS deployment on Ubuntu. These time saving scripts assist with creating Django Secret Keys, copying service templates, and assigning environment variables. This makes deploying in development a breeze and deploying in production a little easier. Right after this post, I am going to work on updating the documentation.
Folks, we are getting really close to prime time here. There are a lot of loose ends to tie up still, but I have come up with several sprints for this month. Every Lookaway app is gonna get flossed in the next update. Some of the things coming are unique slugs (So we can start re-using titles), a landing page for posts and responses ;), SEO optimization, markdown support (for Support Documents only, sorry), tables of contents for Articles, Stories and Support Documents, and more.
We can expect the database schema to change a bit in this next big push, but after that all of the focus will be going into quality of life and accessibility. We want to identify the pain points in the UI and any overlooked features that should be present. Once the final systems have been live and proven stable for a months time, we will be able to start opening up Member registration to the public.
