Do we say of children, that child has great integrity? More commonly we hear of the integrity of those that have completed the course of life.
Once we whole-heatedly allow new ideas that challenge our firmly held beliefs to stand before our respective scrutiny, we get to see whether they stand firm or whither away. This process will fail often. There are times when ideas seem good at the time and later on we realize the error. This refines our scrutiny. On the other hand, there are times when ideas seem bad at the time and later are accepted to be of great value in some way. Welcoming new ideas improves one's ability to evaluate them and widens one's perspective.
